SOLAR & WIND ENERGY SYSTEMS

Wind provides the energy that enables the wind turbine to produce DC current that could be used to run a machine. Often an inverter is installed to convert the DC current to AC current that is used in homes. In addition, a battery system can be installed to provide back power. Sometimes wind and solar energy systems are combined to provide electrial power.
PV Array: Sunlight passes through the sişicone wafers in the PV modules knocking loose electrons which dloq into wires as Direct Current (DC) electricity
AC Disconnect (Utility Accessible): Required by code to insure that all parts of system can be disconnected from all sources of power
AC Mains Panel and Meter: Your grid power consumption and the power production from your PV array are metered here. Net metering means you only pay the difference betweeb what you use and what you produce.
Charge Controller : Controls the voltage going info the patteries and maintains the battery bank charge at pre-programmed limits.
Batteries : Batteries store the energy generated by your system during the day for use if the grid goes down.
Combiner Box : The PV Modules are wired together in a combiner box to output the correct system voltage (VDC).
Inverter : Direct Current (DC) electricity from the PV Array is concerted to Alternating Current (AC) electricity to supply the house loads sell energy back to the grid
DC Disconnect : Sytem shut-off with circuit breakers and ground fault promtection. Required by code to ensure that all parts of system can be disconnected from all sources of power.
AC Disconnect : AC outbut from your inverter and AC power from the grid are combined here with circuit.
