Long-Rod Insulators
These insulators are used for medium and high voltage overhead distribution and transmission lines for suspension or tension of onductor to the posts. Long-rod porcelain insulators provide better peration conditions in comparison to cap and pin type insulators and other composite long-rod insulators on polluted and sea-side areas.
The advantages of long-rod insulators are shown below;
- Lead-Antimony alloy cementing instead of portland cement.
- Minimum use of metal parts.
- Long insulation distance (puncture proof).
- Power-arc protection.
- No measurable aging.
- Higher creepage distance.
- Low Maintenance Cost.
- Routine mechanical tests up to 80-100% of all insulators.
Long-rod insulators are produced according to DIN 40685, KER 110.2 from Alumina body which has higher mechanical properties.
